Weiswasser, BadMuskau, and Poland

Sunday was a day of traveling, ministry and "sightseeing". We left Berlin around 7:45 and headed to Weiswasser Charismaticum Zentrum (the Pentecostal church of Weiswasser). The drive was about two hours and it's was a long and tiring ride. We were wore out from working in Berlin but the closer we got to Weiswasser we started to get anxious and expectant of the church service ahead of us.

We arrived at the church and found Bro Tschapek there -- he is the Pastor of the church we are working with in Hoyeswerda -- he had come to preach. Our group came here last year so it was wonderful to see familiar faces and then come to find out our faces were familiar to them as well.

Right before Bro Tschapek got up to  preach we got to sing two songs (Nothing but the Blood and How Great is our God both in English and German) and had two testimonies given. Afterwards the preaching came forth -- unfortunately with no translator for us poor non-speaking Germans-- and then it was time for coffee and cake with the church people. This is a very important time!!! Ministry isn't all about who can sing the best or who can preach an invite sermon -- though those are good things (singing and preaching). Ministry here in Germany (well anywhere) is about the people whom need the ministry. It's about talking and connecting with the people. It's making the effort to push past or work around the language barriers and cultural differences. Here in Germany relationships are important and they are formed and strengthened via coffee and cake.

Lunch was found in Bad Muskcow at a place called Hermann. We are here last year right along the Germany and Poland border. After lunch we headed across the river and boarder to Poland and the vast Polish market. We wondered around there for an hour or so and then finallyheaded  back to home base: Hoyeswerda!!!!

The remainder of the evening consisted of dinner, a brief meeting, curfew set and then off to bed.

Unfortunately I didn't take many pictures and neither did many of the others. I'll post what I've been given and what I've taken. Sorry about that but I'll make up for it the rest of the week.

Love ya all,
Deidre Faye
