Saturday:
We were quite busy this day. This was our last day to work before the church's weekend service Saturday night. We worked on one of skits called The Sin Box. This is a powerful pantomime skit. Jeremy Margeson is directing and organizing all the skits.
We also worked on our first nights song. We are learning the German words to sing with every song and then sing it in English. Saturday night and Sunday morning at the church in Weiswasser we sang Revelation Song.
We also started to work on day one of kids crusade.
Saturday night at church we learned a lot about Germans. They do not show emotion. They do not explain their feelings. They hold it all in. They don't respond in public. They are very closed off. Bro Doug told us that they are very reserved and many or rather most don't come up to the altar to respond after a sermon. Bro. Doug preached outstanding!!!!!
However the highlight of the night service was after we got up and introduced ourselves, through the translator Lukas, and sang the song. The pastor's wife Sybilley got up and asked to testify. She started telling that she was so happy they we sang in their native tongue. She said she has never felt such... Well she said the word in German so we are all still lost in translation but she said next made it all worth it. She said I felt these goose pimples bumps while we were singing. She was crying and praising The Lord for that feeling. We knew right then that God was gonna do something great this week!!!
After service we had coffee and cake (sweets)....just like we do every night and afternoon. Let's just say I LOVE German coffee. I'm going to have to do a major teeth whitening when I get home I think:)
Well that covers it for Saturday.
Oh here is what the compound looks like from the sky. The compound contains the church, kids crusade theater outside, the Presley's home, the pastors home, the apartment (where the guys stay), school ( classrooms are where the girls stay, coffee room, and a couple of familes from the church.
Love, Deidre
Brother Charlie always says, "It's better felt than told!" Sometimes we can't find the English words to describe just how God blessed us either. Maybe you'll see more of Charlie's words fulfilled: Is it necessary to jump around like that? Well, God is sure able to move you around:-)
